July 8-9 “Eastern Red Cedar: From Peril to Profit” Conference to Highlight New Uses for Eastern Red Cedar Trees This 2 day conference is to be held at the Moore-Norman Technology Center on South Pennsylvania in Oklahoma City. July 8-9-10- Three producer meetings are planned during this week by Technology Crops International to tell farmers more about growing a crop that is a close relative to canola- HEAR- High Erucic Acid Rapeseed- July 8 at noon in Blackwell, July 9 at 6 PM in Frederick and July 10 in Oklahoma City. July 9, 2008- No Till Field Day and Lunch is Set for Grant County. The tour will begin at Rodney and Pat Hern’s farm west of Wakita. Four sites will be visited during the morning session. The sites will include conventional and no-till systems involving wheat, corn, milo, and sesame production. July 10- Organic Agriculture Workshop and Field Day Lane Ag Research Center in Lane, Oklahoma. Jointly sponsored by USDA, OSU, the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture and the Kerr Center- Workshop begins at 2 PM with the Field Day starting at 5 PM. For more details click here.
