Best Broilers of the Tulsa State Fair Shown by Kilee Shepard of Timberlake FFA
Mon, 06 Oct 2008 19:48:44 CDT
The Premium sale of the top market animals that were shown at the 2008 Tulsa State Fair was held on Friday at midday- and early tallies indicate that just over $500,000 was spent supporting these young people from all over the state of Oklahoma.
The Grand Champion Pen of Broilers was shown by Kilee Shepard of the Timberlake FFA. Her chickens were purchased in the premium auction by Expo Serve (the group that operates the concessions at the Tulsa State Fairgrounds and Expo Square) with additional dollars added from Friends of Everett Sallee Scholarship Fund. The buyers paid $4,400 for the top broilers- and in the picture here you can see the championship fowl held by Kilee and friends.
The Reserve Grand Championship Pen of Broilers was shown by Holly Hurliman of the Cordell FFA- purchased by Ford for a pricetag of $3000.00.
