Ky Stierwalt of Leedey FFA Shows Grand Champion Steer at Tulsa State Fair

Ky Stierwalt of the Leedey FFA Chapter won the 2009 Tulsa State Fair Steer Show- and his Grand Champion Market Steer brought a whopping $35,000 in spirited bidding at the Premium sale midday Friday at the fairgrounds. Strong competition during the bidding resulted in $2,000 more for the Grand Champion Steer this year versus 2008.
Winning the bid for the Grand Champion Steer was James Roderick of the Collinsville Livestock Auction market. Ky is no stranger to owning the first animal sold in a premium auction- the Redlands Community College Freshman has had five Grand Champion Steers during his career.

The Reserve Grand Champion Steer was shown by Madison Hudgins from Keystone 4-H- she earned $10,000 as the top bidder for the number two steer of the entire show was Phyllis Raines. Madison's animal was the Champion Maine Anjou.

Charolais- Kacy Nance, Harrah 4-H
Chianina- Taylor Terry, Weatherford 4-H
Simmental- Tyler Compton, Ottawa County 4-H
