Canola TV- A Dog Days of Summer Canola Update with Jeff Scott
Wed, 20 Jul 2011 03:14:17 CDT
A good crowd turned out on Tuesday for the first of two sessions that are a part of the 7th Annual Canola Conference being held this summer by Oklahoma State University. The second of the two sessions is set for Wednesday in Lawton on the campus of Cameron University.
We visited with several people with our video camera recording while in Enid on Tuesday, including a conversation that we had with Jeff Scott, one of the canola veterans in the southern plains. Scott has been raising canola almost since the push began by Dr. Tom Peeper and a few others eight years ago to try winter canola as a rotational crop for continuous wheat.
We talked with Jeff after we saw him a few weeks earlier in one of his canola fields near Pond Creek- and got his take on getting ready for planting the 2012 crop in the face of these record setting hot, dry conditions. Our visit with him is today's edition of Canola TV, a service of PCOM- click here for the PCOM website to learn more about how they can help you market your canola crop.
