Thu, 13 Jun 2019 14:16:35 CDT
In this week’s edition of Checking In on the Beef Checkoff - Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays is joined by Heather Buckmaster, executive director of the Oklahoma Beef Council. During their visit, Buckmaster talked about the Beef Checkoff’s recent campaign to recruit new members for Oklahoma Team Beef. Listen to Buckmaster and Hays full conversation by clicking or tapping the LISTEN BAR below at the bottom of the page.
Oklahoma Team Beef, according to Buckmaster, is a group of running or walking athletes from Oklahoma who understand and believe in the nutritional benefits of lean beef and the vital role it plays in both their day to day living as well as their race training.
“They are some of our best ambassadors for beef because they are fully demonstrating beef in a health lifestyle,” Buckmaster said. “We find it’s a wonderful way to promote beef in action as Oklahoma Team Beef runners actively participate in races around the state and across the nation.”
Those athletes interested in becoming an Oklahoma Team Beef member must first complete the Masters of Beef Advocacy training (MBA) in order to be adequately prepared to knowledgably answer any questions they may be asked on the track or during a race - and must also have a demonstrated history of competitive racing to qualify.
