Checking In on the Beef Checkoff - OK Beef Council's New Video Content an Internet Sensation

Checking In on the Beef Checkoff is a new series the Radio Oklahoma Ag Network and the Oklahoma Farm Report is proud to offer in partnership with the Oklahoma Beef Council. Over the next several weeks, we invite you to join us as we highlight some of the efforts being undertaken by the Beef Checkoff to promote beef on behalf of producers. This week, Heather Buckmaster, executive director of the Oklahoma Beef Council, visits with us about the Oklahoma Beef Council’s new video series showcasing Oklahoma’s farm and ranch families. “We have great new content to share with consumers featuring Oklahoma’s farming and ranching families from all across the state,” Buckmaster said. “One of the main reasons consumers come to our website is to learn more about Oklahoma’s farming and ranching families. So, we want to share that story.”
Currently, the Oklahoma Beef Council website has several new slideshows and videos featuring real Oklahoma beef producers talking about their industry and lifestyle, that is available for the public to watch. Since the first video was launched six weeks ago, the OBC has garnered more than 250,000 views and their Facebook page “Likes” have increased four-fold.
“We couldn’t be more pleased because 90 percent of the views are being driven organically and not through paid advertising which says the content is resonating with consumers,” she said. “Our goal with the campaign is to be authentic and educational in showing the farming and ranching story.
