Checking in on the Beef Checkoff- Oklahoma Beef Council Website Sporting a New Look these Days
Wed, 15 Aug 2018 11:36:15 CDT
Checking In on the Beef Checkoff is a new series the Radio Oklahoma Ag Network and the Oklahoma Farm Report is proud to offer in partnership with the Oklahoma Beef Council. Over the next several weeks, we invite you to join us as we highlight some of the efforts being undertaken by the Beef Checkoff to promote beef on behalf of producers. This week, Heather Buckmaster, executive director of the Oklahoma Beef Council, visits with us about the new look of the Oklahoma Beef Council’s website and its new features. Listen to Buckmaster speak with Radio Oklahoma Ag Network Farm Director Ron Hays about the new website, by clicking or tapping the LISTEN BAR below at the bottom of the page.
According to Buckmaster, the new website was launched earlier this past spring and mirrors the overall look and design of the national Beef Checkoff website, utilizing much of its content as well.
“This provides us the opportunity to build brand equity for the Beef Checkoff and beef across the nation and Oklahoma,” she said. “Our website brings together both the story of ranching and provides information for producers and consumers wanting to know more about the Beef Checkoff. So, we’re really excited about the new look of it.”
The new site features an entire page dedicated to beef recipes and cooking tips, which has quickly become the site’s most popular feature. However, other parts of the site include information on how beef is raised and produced. This section features national content currently, but new Oklahoma-specific content is in production and will soon be available as well and will help tell the stories of the state’s farming and ranching families. The site also features the Cattlemen’s Corner, a section just for producers with relevant Checkoff information and downloadable forms for cattle sale reporting.
