Howdy Neighbors!

Here's your morning farm news headlines from the Director of Farm Programming for the Radio Oklahoma Network, Ron Hays. We are proud to welcome KIS Futures as a regular sponsor of our daily E-Mail.

Another of our sponsors on this daily email service is Cusack Meats, and Al Cusack wants everyone to know that he APPRECIATES Oklahoma's Farmers and Ranchers! You can go to the Cusack website and select some great gift packs of meat for giving- or for yourself!
And our email this morning is also a service of Midwest Farm Shows, producer of the just concluded Tulsa Farm Show, as well as the Southern Plains Farm Show in Oklahoma City this coming April! Check out details of both of these exciting shows at the official website of Midwest Farm Shows by clicking here.

Haskell Cudd to be laid to rest today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Haskell Cudd, Chairman of the Board of Stillwater Milling Company passed away on Friday, one week after his wife of 74 years died. Mr. Cudd just celebrated his 100th birthday earlier in 2007.
A memorial service is scheduled for this afternoon at 4:00 p.m. on this final day of 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church, 524 S. Duncan in Stillwater. The service will honor the lives of both Haskell and his wife of 74 years, Ethel.
Mr. Cudd leaves behind a family that includes several members that continue to operate Stillwater Milling, including Alice Fowler, his daughter, as well as his grandson Rob Bauter and granddaughter Stacy Bauter. We have served with Alice on the Advisory Council of the Oklahoma Ag Leadership Program and we express our sorrow for the loss of this wonderful family that has served agriculture in the state so very well. We have linked below a very complete obituary from the Stillwater Paper from this weekend.
Have a safe New Year's Eve!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We were not planning on doing an email today- but had been asked to get this word out about the Memorial Service for Haskell Cudd to our farm and ranch community- so we are offering a very brief update on this final day of 2007.

Abbreviated Trading Today for most Ag Futures- except Cotton.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We do remind you that the most agricultural futures will be operating in Holiday mode today- closing at midday and shut for Tuesday for the New Year's Day celebration. That's the case for Chicago and Kansas City futures markets.
However, the ICE-Cotton open outcry futures in New York will trade their normal hours on this last day of 2007. Cotton futures were closed last Monday for Christmas Eve- but will trade a full session today on this December 31.
Auction Barns Remain Mostly Shut All Week Long.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
While some of our smaller auction barns may be open later this week- the larger markets that are covered by the Federal-State Market News folks are mostly closed all of this week- with one exception. The Apache Stockman's Oklahoma Market will have their first sale of the new year this coming Friday, January 4.
