81st Annual Meeting February 24-26, 2019
Embassy Suites
Oklahoma City Downtown Medical Center

OACD's Annual Meeting brings together conservation leaders from across the state for educational sessions, workshops and networking. This year's meeting will focus on the theme "Charting the Course for Conservation" and marks the 81st time OACD has gathered.

"2018 was an incredible year for conservation in Oklahoma, with new funding for conservation district employees and much-needed rehabilitation of aging flood control structures," said OACD president Jimmy Emmons. "We are looking forward to celebrating these advancements and providing districts with tools and resources to help them 'chart the course' for the future of conservation in Oklahoma."

The meeting will kick off on Sunday, February 24th, with a state youth speech contest and awards ceremony, a networking reception for the 2018 Conservation Leadership Class and champions of the Conservation and Agriculture Reach Everyone (CARE) program and a game night for conservation district employees.

Monday's opening general session will feature a variety of learning opportunities for conservation districts focusing on long-term planning, connecting with new legislators, 2018 Farm Bill, monarch initiative and tribal conservation partnerships. On Monday evening, OACD presents their annual awards at the banquet.

The meeting will conclude Tuesday, February 26th, with a soil health track designed specifically for farmers and ranchers who want to take the next step toward implementing a soil health system. The full-day event will feature experts on a variety of soil health topics including sustainable agriculture, biotic farming, furrow irrigation and cover crops. The Tuesday Soil Health Track offers two continuing education units in soil and water management and crop management.

Registration is available for Tuesday only or for all three days. For a complete meeting agenda and registration information visit www.okconservation.org/.
