There are various methods used around the world for establishing vegetable and fruit crops. This hands-on workshop will showcase some of the traditional and novel equipment available for use.

Noble Research Institute Small-Scale Agriculture Demonstration Area
The Noble Research Institute will host a Planting Vegetable and Fruit Crops workshop .
Noble Research Institute soils and crops consultants will showcase the common and not-so-common tools and techniques used to plant specialty crops.
Special equipment that can help growers seed and transplant vegetable crops more easily, such as push planters and jab planters, will be demonstrated. The vegetable types presented will be small-seeded crops such as greens, cabbage and root vegetables. Large-seeded crops covered will be sweet corn, beans, peas and cucurbit crops.
Attendees will also learn about pre- and post-planting procedures for bare-root and container-grown fruit trees.
Weather-appropriate outdoor attire should be worn. There is no registration fee, but preregistration is required. For more information and to register, please visit www.noble.org/events
