Wheat Harvest Update- Sumner County, Kansas
Sat, 20 Jun 2009 8:28:10 CDTAnother report from the wheat fields- this comes from Oklahoman Patrick Zeka who tells us about wheat harvest that is rolling in Sumner County, Kansas- just over the Kansas-Oklahoma line.
Patrick writes "My family is cutting 1,500 acres of wheat near Wellington, Kansas (in the self-anointed wheat capital of the world--Sumner County). They report yields slightly above expectations. Test weights in the 58-60 lbs range and yields of 35-45 bu/acre on the first 400 acres. They do expect yields to decrease as the best wheat was ready first."
