Wheat Harvest Moving Closer to Road Gear- We Talk wtih Mike Schulte of the Oklahoma Wheat Commission Harvest is rolling! That seems to be the message we are getting from several directions around the state. To summarize several emails that we have received from late last night and today- The picture to the right is from the Nash area of Grant County and a 140 acres of Overly that was cut on Monday- made 38 bushels an acre with 60 pound test weight.

We had a report from Burlington that today was expected to be a very busy day at the Co-op in that community. They took some wheat yesterday with test weights mostly 58 to 59 pounds per bushel.

We got a report from the Goltry area of some Jagger wheat being cut with a test weight of 59 pounds per bushel- averaged 37 bushels an acre- and the farmer thought they had better wheat still to cut from newer varieties (beyond Jagger)

We also talked at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday with Mike Schulte of the Oklahoma Wheat Commission to get a feel of what he is hearing. Click on the Listen Bar to hear that conversation about wheat harvest progress on this Tuesday.
