Marketing Your 2008 Wheat- When to Pull the Trigger? Kim Anderson Weighs In on SUNUP

Fri, 21 Nov 2008 19:03:03 CST

Marketing Your 2008 Wheat- When to Pull the Trigger? Kim Anderson Weighs In on SUNUP OSU Extension Grain Marketing Economist Dr. Kim Anderson says there is a lot of indecision over what to do with wheat that farmers still own. Many of these producers are very discouraged with the sharp drop in wheat prices we have lived through from early August to now.

Dr. Anderson thinks we have hit a bottom on wheat prices- but that we may be able to get a sense of whether there is any short term up to this wheat market right after Thanksgiving.

Dr. Anderson's comments were a part of the weekend show seen on OETA called SUNUP. We have Kim's thoughts as he shared them with Clinton Griffiths on the program linked below in the Listen Bar. SUNUP is produced by the OSU Division of Agriculture- and this week includes the following topics:

We talk to an OSU nutrient management specialist about using Nitrogen-Ramp and Nitrogen-Rich strips on wheat fields

At the Shop Stop our experts talk about checking your air compressor for water

Glenn Selk talks about taking the time to look back on last year’s calving season in preparation for this year

SUNUP takes a look at rotating between wheat pastures and grass for winter grazing

Extension horse specialist, Dave Freeman, talks about the importance of good nutrition for horses during the winter months

SUNUP also welcomes economist Larry Sanders back to the program to discuss the outlook for the general economy and how it could impact rural Oklahoma.
