JBS Swift Establishes Cow Calf Council

At the Thursday general session, Wesley Batista, President of JBS Swift in Greeley, Colorado, told Cattle Industry attendees that his organization is planning a Cow Calf Council to help the packer interact with producers who are helping supply his company with cattle.
Later in the day, we caught up with Chandler Keys with JBS- and he says the initial Cow Calf Council has been selected, ten producers from around the country, and they will be meeting in the near future.
We also talked Russia with Keys, as JBS has been in the middle of the conversations with the Russians over their current ban of most pork from this country into theirs, and their reluctance to take chicken meat from the United States as well.
