Wheat Market Struggling- Could More Downside Be Ahead?

Fri, 29 Jan 2010 6:48:28 CST

OSU Grain Marketing Economist Dr. Kim Anderson sees lower wheat futures prices in our immediate future. He says that both the March and July Kansas City wheat contracts are right at or slightly below support levels- and that there seems to be little incentive for the market to struggle higher anytime soon.

Anderson talked about the current grain market for this weekend's SUNUP, the regular OSU Ag Communications program seen on OETA Saturday mornings.

Besides Dr. Anderson's segment, Clinton Griffiths, who hosts the program each week, tells us that he has a great lineup again for this week- including:

SUNUP continues its look at No-Till farming and focuses this week on setting up the drill.

Derrell Peel talks about making the graze-out decision for producers running stockers on winter wheat.

Glenn Selk shows producers a better way to help newborn calves ward off respiratory acidosis.

SUNUP answers a viewer’s question about using grain sorghum or milo as a fattening ration for cattle coming off winter wheat.

In the shop, our guys demonstrate how to remove a frozen or stuck pin from implement attachments.

AGWEATHER looks into the long range for the rest of winter.

SUNUP says goodbye from the 2010 Soybean Expo.

Click on the Listen Bar below to hear Kim Anderson's comments from this week's SUNUP- even before you can see them on the telly this weekend.
