We have a report from Tuesday of Soft Red Winter Wheat Harvest in southeastern Oklahoma. Casey Weger farms south of Durant in Bryan County- and he offers this report on wheat harvest on his farm here in 2010.
"We have been cutting soft red winter wheat here since Saturday and so far yields have stayed near the 60 bushel average. We have been very impressed with our yields. The SRW variety that we have been growing is Coker 9553 and moisture has been in the 11.5-12.0 range with protein averaging 11.5 and all test weights have been consistently in the 62 range."
Casey tells us that he is very please with harvest thus far from his vantage spot in southeastern Oklahoma.
