Oklahoma State University and the Oklahoma Youth Expo to Partner on Scholarships Worth $20,000

Thu, 30 Sep 2010 6:15:57 CDT

Oklahoma State University and the Oklahoma Youth Expo to Partner on Scholarships Worth $20,000 A Scholarship Partnership has been announced by Oklahoma State University and the Oklahoma Youth Expo. OSU has pledged $10,000 for two $5,000 scholarships to be used at the University by high achievers honored by the Oklahoma Youth Expo. In response, the Board of Directors of the Oklahoma Youth Expo has agreed to match the OSU pledge, making the total scholarship money in this agreement $20,000 for a total of four $5,000 scholarships.

OYE Executive Director Jeramy Rich says these scholarships will be incorporated into the awards process that includes the Agricultural All State Awards- honoring the brightest and the best of Oklahoma youth involved in agriculture. Rich says that young people interested in these scholarships will need to go through the OYE application process that has a December first deadline to turn in the application. Candidates will be interviewed after the first of the year- and the young men and ladies involved will be ranked and then spotlighted just ahead of the Selection of the Grand Champion Market Animals at the 2011 Oklahoma Youth Expo at State Fair Park in Oklahoma City.

CLick here for the OYE website for more information on that application process.

After the public announcement on Wednesday in Stillwater, we talked with Jeramy Rich of the OYE about the partnership as well as early plans for the 2011 OYE- click on the LISTEN BAR below to hear our full conversation.
