Riley Pagett of Woodward Makes Second Run for National Office At 2010 National FFA Convention

If at first you don't succeed- try, try again. We have all heard that advice from childhood- and one member of the Oklahoma FFA Association is taking that advice to heart as he travels this month back to Indianapolis for the 2010 National FFA Convention. Riley Pagett of the Woodward FFA Chapter was the National Officer Candidate for 2009 for Oklahoma FFA- made the first cut a year ago and was hoping to hear his name called on Saturday afternoon when the National Officer Candidates were trimmed to six new national officers for 2009-2010. That did not happen last October, but Riley is back, and hopes to be in that same position on October 23rd this year, with a different result.

We talked with Riley about the process of being selected as the National Officer Candidate that would represent Oklahoma in a couple of weeks- and what he will be facing when he travels to Indianapolis. By Wednesday morning of convention week, the initial group of candidates will be trimmed down to about a dozen or so, with the final six that will travel more than 300 days over the next year as FFA's national ambassadors will be named on Saturday afternoon as the final piece of business for the 2010 National Convention.

You can hear our full conversation with Riley by clicking on the LISTEN BAR below. Riley Pagett is one of many young men and ladies that will be representing Oklahoma in a variety of ways in Indy October 20-23, 2010 and you can see a full list of those vying for national honors by clicking here

We are excited to announce that for the second year, our converage of the 2010 National FFA convention will be a service of the Oklahoma FFA Alumni Association and the Oklahoma FFA Association.
