NCBA Chief Economist Gregg Doud Talks GIPSA- Part Two
Mon, 11 Oct 2010 6:34:41 CDT
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack received a bipartisan letter on Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, from 115 members of the U.S. House of Representatives calling for a comprehensive economic analysis of a proposed rule on livestock and poultry marketing under the Packers and Stockyards Act.
We discuss this request by Congress with the Chief Economist of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, Gregg Doud. We also talk with Gregg about what he thinks USDA may discover if they look under the hood of this proposed rule from the viewpoint of the economic impact it may carry with it.
Today's Beef Buzz is part two of two parts with Doud about his latest thoughts on the GIPSA Rule.
The Beef Buzz is a regular feature heard on radio stations around the state on the Radio Oklahoma Network- but is also a regular audio feature found on this website as well.
