Bayer Animal Health Touting New Technology for Fly Control Eartags
Mon, 13 Dec 2010 6:42:57 CST
It's not fly season right now- but now is the time to do a little research on what is new in fly conmtrol for your beef or dairy cows. Bayer Animal Health is one of the companies that has some new technology available to producers- and we talk on the latest Beef Buzz with Dr. Larry Harkins of Bayer Animal Health about these new fly control ear tags.
One is CyGuard, an Insecticide cattle ear tag with new FyberTek. The Bayer website for CyGoard says "Improve your bottom line; help relieve fly stress on your cattle. Clay-colored CyGuard™ is made with new FyberTek™, the latest fiber technology that holds more active ingredient in a single tag than our prior technology allowed."
The second new tag is Corathon, which contains 50% organophosphate insecticide, 25% more active ingredient than the Co-Ral Plus® Insecticide Cattle Ear Tag. The unique thing about this brand of tag will work well not just on horn flies, but also on face flies.
