THE Question- Where's the Top of the Current Run in the Cattle Market?
Wed, 19 Jan 2011 20:42:22 CST
Cattle and wholesale beef prices continue to run higher- and the question many in the cattle business would like to know the answer to- where's the top of this current run? We talk about that with Jim Robb, who has returned to the Livestock Market Information Center after a short time being away from the group.
Cash Cattle prices hit a solid $108 this past week, the highest level since the fall of 2003 and very close to an all time high. Robb says the runup in cash cattle prices followed an even sharper move higher in the wholesale beef market. Tight supplies of market ready cattle- with a red hot beef export market giving a major assist- has allowed the slaughter cattle market, as well as the yearling and calf markets to hover in record or near record territory.
Jim Robb is our guest on today's Beef Buzz.
The Beef Buzz is a regular feature heard on radio stations around the state on the Radio Oklahoma Network- but is also a regular audio feature found on this website as well.
