An Oklahoma Cattle Lady is moving through the officer chairs of the American National Cattlewomen- and Tammi Didlot is ready to take the next step on her journey later this week when she will be likely elevated to the position of President Elect of the lady's group. She has served over the past year as the National Vice President of the ANCW- and she tells us that it has been a great year- and very very busy. We caught up with Didlot between meetings here in Denver at the Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show. Most of the ANCW members that were planning on coming to Denver this year got in on Sunday or early Monday- so missed many of the travel problems that a lot of cattle producers have been dealing with.
Several projects are on the radar of Tammi Didlot. Two of the signature programs that the Cattlewomen have worked on for several years include the National Beef Ambassador Program, as well as the National Beef Cookoff Competition. Tammi tells us both of these programs give us ways to share the message of the beef industry with beef consumers in a very positive way. A third program that ANCW is undertaking in 2011 is a national speakers bureau where 20 cattle ladies, including a couple from Oklahoma, are being trained to be able to communicate a positive viewpoint of producing beef to the consuming public- especially when it comes to offering a counter message to ones being put out by groups that want to end livestock production in the US as we now know it.
