Beef Board Leadership Up for Grabs in Denver

There will likely be a very close vote on Saturday morning for who will be leading the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board in the coming year. In the Beef Board Forum held Thursday afternoon here in Denver, the Nominating Committee of the group offered it's slate of officers. After that group of nominees was read- Oklahoma Beef Board member Bob Drake asked that he be allowed to announce an alternate slate of officers that he intended to officially place in nomination on Saturday. The Chairman of the Board, Dan Dierschke of Texas ruled that out of order. An appeal of the Chair's ruling was defeated 46 to 39.
We obtained a list of the full alternate slate of officers and Committee members that will be proposed by Drake and those who stand in opposition to the proposed slate of officers for 2011 for the CBB.
Here are the two lists of officers that will be chosen from on Saturday morning in Denver:
