Tue, 10 May 2011 11:03:10 CDT

Mark Anderson Named Executive Director for North American Limousin Foundation Mark A. Anderson, Eaton, Colo., has accepted the position of executive director for the North American Limousin Foundation (NALF). The association's board of directors offered him the job in April; and he moved into the Centennial, Colo., headquarters in early May.

In NALF's primary leadership position, Anderson is responsible for executing policies and programs regarding the Limousin herdbook, animal performance, member and industry relations, breed marketing and promotion, finances, staffing, strategic planning, and member services.

"It is a great honor to join the Limousin team and am looking forward to growing the Limousin breed," Anderson said. "Our goal as a staff and as a breed will be increasing commercial acceptance."

Anderson brings to the breed over 29 years of industry experience and expertise. Most recently he was the feedlot manager at Producers Livestock. He previously worked for Miller Feedlot in their procurement division and as a market analyst for CattleFax. A graduate of Colorado State University, Mark received his degree in Animal Science and was a member of the University's livestock judging team.

Anderson serves on the board of directors for the National Western Stock Show (NWSS), where he currently chairs the Judges committee and serves on the Executive Livestock Committee. He is the past chairman of the Feeder Council and Marketing committees for the Colorado Livestock Association, while also serving on the organizations Executive Committee.

"We are excited for Mark to join the team and the opportunities he brings to the table," said NALF President Mike Smith, Plainville, Kan. "His strong industry experience and knowledge of the commercial beef industry will be assets to the Limousin breed as we continue to work together to increase our market share."
