Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation Hosting Estate Planning Seminar for Local Ranchers and Farmers
Tue, 05 Jul 2011 14:08:48 CDT
The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation's Agricultural Division will host an Estate Planning Seminar from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the Southern Oklahoma Technology Center, located east of the Noble Foundation's main campus in Ardmore.
Estate tax laws have changed substantially due to recently enacted legislation. This seminar is designed to help local ranchers and farmers learn the best methods to protect their assets and ensure assets are distributed according to their wishes.
"This seminar will give farmers and ranchers the opportunity to learn about the many variables that impact their estate planning," said Dan Childs, Noble Foundation agricultural economist. "Agricultural producers work extremely hard to accumulate assets that make up their farms and ranches. We want to help them protect and preserve their estates for future generations."
The speakers for this year's seminar will include Craig Watson, J.D., a member of the State Bar of Texas and the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys; and Shannon Ferrell, an agricultural economics assistant professor at Oklahoma State University who specializes in agricultural law.
The seminar is offered at no cost and open to the public. For additional information or to register, call Tracy Cumbie at 580.224.6411 or click here to register online.
