Board of Agriculture Meeting to be Held in Woodward

The Oklahoma Board of Agriculture will be holding its regularly scheduled monthly meeting in Woodward, OK at the High Plains Technology Center at 10:00 a.m. on October 18, 2011. This is the only board meeting to be held outside of Oklahoma City.
Agriculture in Oklahoma creates $6 billion dollars of wealth each year from our natural resources that helps to fuel the economy.
The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry and the Oklahoma Board of Agriculture play an integral role in making certain that the future of agriculture in Oklahoma is a bright one.
It is important for board members as well as division directors in the agency to be in tune with what is taking place in the field.Oklahoma Board of Agriculture members as well as agency division directors will be touring several agriculture-related locations in northwestern Oklahoma to see new technological developments and agricultural processing.
"Maintaining a good dialogue between producers and the Board of Agriculture helps to ensure the best decisions are made for Oklahoma agriculture," said Jim Reese, Oklahoma Secretary of Agriculture.
The public is welcome and encouraged to attend and will be given the opportunity to comment at the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Board Meeting on Oct. 18, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
