The Legendary Restaurants of Oklahoma continues again this week with Stables Cafe in Guthrie, Okla. Started in 1987, the family owned and operated Stables Cafe is known for the best in barbecue, steaks and burgers, all for a reasonable price.
With a recipe for "Broken Wheel BBQ" brought from the panhandle of Texas, Stables Cafe has some of the best barbecue in the state. Their barbecue is simmering constantly to ensure perfection with every bite, whether it is pork ribs, beef brisket, sausage or on a barbecue sandwich.
To go along with these tasty dishes, Stables Cafe serves up their famous homemade mini-onion rings, which owner Debbie Prather says customers won't want to miss out on. These thinly sliced onion rings are sliced, cooked right when the customer orders and are served piping hot on the plate says Prather.
Stables Cafe also offers a unique dining experience because of their outstanding decor. With a variety of antiques on the walls and a collection that has grown for 25 years, Prather says customers will find antiques at Stables Cafe that they won't be able to find anywhere else. They also encourage people to just come get dessert and enjoy the atmosphere.
Ultimately, Prather says Stables Cafe offers just a little bit of everything to customers and you won't leave hungry or disappointed. Stable's Cafe is open every day, except holidays, from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
