Sun, 04 Dec 2011 23:38:37 CST
Rainfall totals from this past weekend show a welcome shot of moisture across a large swath of Oklahoma- with the largest totals coming in the four or five southeastern most counties of the state. Totals from the start to the end of the weekend hit as high as three inches of rain in southeastern Oklahoma, while numerous locations across the state clocked in at one inch or more.
These rain showers continue to plus in better and better condition as we move into the winter season- especially for the winter canola and winter wheat crops, as well as for forage that has developed here late in the season. The rainfall totals for the weekend can be seen in graphic form in the picture at the top of this page.
The rain will also continue to push drought a little further out of the state- we have below the latest Drought Monitor from this past Thursday morning that showed only 10% of the state now in exceptional drought, close to fifteen percent of the state now out of drought of any kind.
