Mon, 13 Feb 2012 08:09:23 CST
The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation will host a Fertilizing for Profit Seminar from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at the Noble Foundation's Kruse Auditorium.
During the seminar, Noble Foundation soils and crops consultants will discuss the importance of soil testing and the proper method for taking a soil sample to obtain an accurate soil test. Attendees will also learn about pH and liming, as well as how the three essential nutrients (nitrogen, potassium and phosphorus) are used in agricultural production.
"Fertilizer can represent a significant portion of the input costs for agricultural producers," said Eddie Funderburg, Ph.D., senior soils and crops consultant. "This seminar can help the producer understand how to more efficiently use fertilizer to maximize profits, while minimizing the impact of fertilizer on the environment."
The seminar is offered at no charge, but advance registration is required. For additional information or to register, contact the Noble Foundation by clicking here or call Tracy Cumbie at 580.224.6292.
