Day one is complete for Class XV of the Oklahoma Ag Leadership Program. The overnight flight across the Atlantic put the young agricultural leaders into Edinburgh, Scotland at 7 AM local time. The group loaded up in their Mercedes Benz bus and began a full day of activities, starting with a city tour of Edinburgh, followed by a visit to the National Scottish Rural Museum a few miles outside of town. After lunch there, a very informative stop was made at the Hartwood Home Farm, owned by the James Hutton Insitute.
In a light rain, the group heard from and was escorted around the beef cow-calf and sheep operation by Farm Manager George Corsar. We will file a story on that visit this evening. The picture here is of Corsar as he showed off his Ling Beef Cattle to the OALP group.
We have just posted pictures of day one in Scotland for Class XV of the OALP. Click here for our FLICKR set of pictures for the OALP Class XV international travel experience to Scotland and Ireland and see day one pictures of these activities. We will add pictures each day as the leaders interact with Scottish and Irish rural and agricultural interests.
