Noble Foundation Workshop Offers Insight Into Grazing Management
The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation will host a Grazing and Fencing Establishment Workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Thursday, June 21, at the Noble Foundation Pavilion, located on the organization's Ardmore campus.

The workshop, which is open to the public, is designed to assist agricultural producers improve their pastures and fencing techniques. Noble Foundation consultants will discuss high-stock-density grazing, switchgrass establishment and fencing construction.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to gain experience working with a variety of fencing materials. Gallagher, Electra-Lock and Stay-Tuff company representatives will display a variety of fencing materials and provide hands-on demonstrations for attendees.

"Whether you're a seasoned producer or a new rancher, this is an opportunity to learn about today's fencing technology and high stock density grazing," said Hugh Aljoe, consultation program manager. "Staying current with existing Ag industry technology and research are keys to maintaining successful operations."

The workshop, which is sponsored in part by a Conservation Initiative Grant through the NRCS, will also cover the organization's current research on the establishment and management of switchgrass. "Switchgrass offers agricultural producers multiple end points," said John Blanton, agricultural research programs manager. "This perennial grass is being studied for its potential as a bioenergy crop, but the Noble Foundation is working to make it a viable component of a year-round forage system for beef cattle production."

Registration fee is $20 and includes lunch. For more information or to register for the workshop, please contact Tracy Cumbie at 580.224.6292, or register online at www.noble.org/AgEvents.
