Registration Opens for OSU's Cow-Calf Boot Camp

The Nov. 12-14 Oklahoma State University Cooperative Extension Cow-Calf Boot Camp may be just the thing for beef producers who want to get the most out of their investment but cannot go back to school to do it.
"It's an extremely useful but intensive program, packing approximately 30 hours of learning into three days, and is designed for both new and experienced cattle producers," said Dr. Dave Sparks, OSU Cooperative Extension veterinarian and food animal quality and health specialist.
The event will take place at the Creek County Fairgrounds in Kellyville, located on the east side of State Highway 66.
A registration fee of $100 per participant is required, which covers the cost of five meals, refreshment breaks, conference materials and all planned camp activities. Registration forms are available through all OSU Cooperative Extension county offices or online by clicking here.
"We're limiting enrollment to 50 individuals, to ensure participants receive the maximum opportunity to interact with and learn from session leaders who are experts in their career fields," Sparks said. "Available spots are already filling up fast, so register now to ensure your participation in the boot camp."
Participants will work "hands-on" with live cattle, solve real-world management challenges and have ample opportunities for questions and discussions. A complete schedule and additional details are available at the online registration site.
Sponsors include Farm Credit of Central Oklahoma, Oklahoma Beef Council, Oklahoma Farm Bureau, Oklahoma Cattlemen's Association, Texas and Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, Multimin USA Inc. and the OSU Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
