Crop Insurance Workshop Set For November 2nd in Enid

Producers, crop insurance agents, agricultural lenders, marketing consultants, educators, and other risk management service providers will all benefit from the 2012 Crop Insurance Workshop scheduled for Nov. 2 in Enid.
Presenters at the workshop will explain the common land unit acreage reporting plan and provide an update on the status of the farm bill and its implications for 2013 decision-making. They will also assess the economics of land rentals and discuss the implications of drought on grain marketing strategies.
The workshop will be conducted at the Autry Technology Center in Enid.

The workshop will begin at 8 a.m. with registration and coffee. Presentations will begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. with a break for lunch. Presenters and topics include:
· Chad Wilkerson, Oklahoma City Branch Executive and Economist with the Federal Reserve Bank, will discuss the macro outlook and implications for agriculture.
· Jody Campeche, Extension Ag Policy Specialist with Oklahoma State University will examine farm policy and the prospects for a new farm bill.
· Kim Anderson, Extension Grain Marketing Specialist with OSU, will assess the grain market outlook for 2012 and 2013.
· Troy Brady, Vice President of Data Quality and Systems Design with NCIS will explain the Common Land Unit Acreage Reporting Plan.
· Rodney Jones, Area Extension Ag Economist with OSU will discuss land values and rents.
· Art Barnaby, Professor and Extension Ag Economist at Kansas State University will examine the effects of drought and politics on risk management policy.
An RMA representative will also be on hand to provide an update on RMA policy.
The workshop will count toward continuing education credits for insurance professionals.
