In this week's beef report with Ed Czerwien, USDA Market News Office in Amarillo, Texas, the choice cut market ended the week of February 9, 2013 at $182.12, about .40 lower than the previous week. The total boxed beef volume for all cuts was 6,905 loads which was only 25 loads better than the previous week.
The general trend in the finished cattle trade was mostly steady last week with live deals at $125.00 cwt, with dressed trade $2.00 lower at $200.00 cwt.
The average live weight from the cattle harvested in the Texas Panhandle was 1,258, a drop of 12 pounds from the previous week.
