The Sale of Champions helped conclude the market animal phase of the 2013 Oklahoma Youth Expo. For Tipton FFA member Destinee Johnson, it turned out to be a great payday, as her pair of Grand Champions sold for a total of $25,000.

The Grand Champion Market Lamb- the top Hampshire in the show- sold for $15,000 and was purchased by Central States Trailers- while her Grand Champion Market Goat sold for $10,000- being purchased by McDonalds and Farm Credit Associations of Oklahoma.

Meanwhile- the Reserve Grand Champion Market Lamb was shown by Brock Hill of the Sapulpa FFA- his Suffolk sold for $10,000 while the Bronze Medallion Market Lamb, owned by Ashley Rhodes of Indiahoma FFA was sold for $5,000.

The Reserve Grand Champion Wether Goat was shown by Halie Schovanec of Garber FFA- Halie saw her Goat sell for $7,500 while the market goat chosen third overall for the entire show was owned by Emily Jackson of Hartshorne FFA- Emily's goat sold for $6,000.

Overall- the Sale of Champions saw 215 animals offered- and OYE Executive Director Tyler Norvell reports that the final sale total approached $850,000- the highest overall sale total ever for what is known as the "World's Largest Junior Livestock Show."
