Growth Energy Adds New Chief Economist
Continuing its efforts to provide its membership and the biofuels industry with the highest level of service and expertise, Growth Energy is pleased to announce that Jim Miller, a seasoned agricultural policy expert has joined the organization to serve as Vice President and Chief Economist.

Miller, a native of Washington State most recently served as the Senior Policy Advisor on the Budget Committee under Senator Kent Conrad (D-N.D.). There, Miller was the primary advisor and analyst for agricultural policy and trade issues. Prior to his service on Capitol Hill, Jim was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to serve as the Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agriculture Services at the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Additionally, Miller has also gained invaluable expertise while serving in leadership roles at the National Farmers Union and the National Association of Wheat Growers.

"Jim has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the issue areas that are critical to our membership and the biofuels industry and I am confident that Jim will play an instrumental role as we continue to promote the benefits of clean burning, homegrown renewable fuels. Specifically, Jim will play a central role in highlighting the economic benefits that biofuels play in our economy," stated Tom Buis, CEO of Growth Energy.

"I am thrilled to be part of the team at Growth Energy," Miller noted. "The ethanol industry has helped create a robust farm economy that has had substantial economic benefits for our entire nation, by creating jobs here at home and reducing our dependence on foreign oil. I look forward to help advance Growth Energy's' mission to educate the public and policymakers alike about the economic benefits of ethanol as well as help enhance the organization's strategic vision."
