It is the Way to Proceed- Frank Lucas to Rules Committee regarding Farm Bill Without Nutrition Title

In what is being called an emergency meeting of the Rules Committee, it appears that the Republican leadership is planning to push ahead in voting on a 2013 Farm Bill sans Nutrition as early as Thursday of this week. The bill the Rules Committee is considering is the committee-passed bill as amended on the floor without the nutrition title. Another change is the repeal of 1938 and 1949 permanent law provisions. It makes the 2013 Title I permanent law going forward. The change making the 2013 Title One permanent law was requested by Chairman Lucas, based on his explanation of why the Permanent Law changes were included in this measure the Rules Committee is hoping to send to the floor in the near future.
Oklahoma Congressman Tom Cole is a member of the Rules Committee- and he asked Chairman Lucas if he is confident about moving this direction with a farm bill package in an effort to get to a conference with the US Senate. Lucas told Cole "It is the way to proceed."
