Carthage- Joplin Regional Stockyards Mid-Session and Close 07-15 Carthage- Joplin Regional Stockyards
Feeder Cattle Auction Mid-Session and Close for 07/15/2013

Receipts: 5182    Last Week:   3924    Year Ago: 4094

Compared to last week, yearling feeder steers sold 3.00-7.00 higher and yearling heifers were 3.00-5.00 higher both in active trading. All classes of steer and heifer calves traded 2.00-4.00 higher in a lighter test. Demand was best for 800-850 lb steers with those averaging a higher price than the 7 weights. Price spreads on the heifers were much wider as their sale was much more dependent on quality and flesh condition. Supply included 60 percent steers, 36 percent heifers, and 4 percent feeder bulls. Around 71 percent weighed over 600 lbs. Note: The Joplin Regional Stockyards have scheduled a Special Video Auction for this Thursday Jul 18th at 1:00 pm.
