Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 08/05/2013



   

Actual Receipts: 4827   Last Monday: 4606   Yr Ago Monday: 4811

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers sold 1.00-3.00 higher.   Demand very good for feeder cattle. Steer and heifer calves not well tested but a higher undertone was noted. Demand also very good for calves. Quality mostly plain to average. Hot temperatures of over 100 degrees are expected for early in the week, with a cooling off period for Thursday and Friday. Receipts this week totaled 84 percent over 600 lbs and 46 percent heifers.

Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: Calves: 385-395 lbs 182.50-184.50; few fancy 495 lb 194.00; 500-600 lbs 171.00-175.00, few fancy 186.00, fleshy 161.00-165.00; 630-675 lbs 144.00-154.00; 750-785 lbs 142.00-147.00; Yearlings: 600-625 lbs 164.75-169.00; 660-680 lbs 154.50-162.25; 700-750 lbs 154.00-157.00; 750-800 lbs 148.00-151.50; 800-900 lbs 141.50-151.50, fleshy 137.00; 950-995 lbs 130.00-135.00; load 1000 lbs 128.50-130.85.

Medium and Large 1-2: 450-500 lbs 168.00-172.00; 500-550 lbs 161.00-172.00, fleshy 154.75-155.00; 550-600 lbs 159.00-164.50, pkg fleshy 152.00; 625-700 lbs 148.50-156.00; 700-800 lbs 142.00-149.50; 825-850 lbs 141.75-144.75; 875-900 lbs 136.00-138.00; pkg 900 lbs 133.00.
