Rainfall totals are not uniform across the state since this past Friday morning- but many locations have received enough rain to have farmers in those locales ready to run the grain drills for planting of winter wheat and/or winter canola once the fields dry out enough to handle the farm equipment.
The map above is a snapshot since Friday morning, September 13th- and shows that several west central Oklahoma mesonet sites have received the largest amounts of rainfall- both Cheyenne and Erick have topped two inches of rainfall since Friday.
The two westernmost counties in the Panhandle have also received nice rainfall totals- and it looks even more impressive for Cimmaron County when you back up another day or so.
The forecast shows rainfall will continue across a lot of the state, with even southwestern communities like Altus showing good chances of thunderstorms rolling through. The forecast map below is from the Norman National Weather Service office and shows about the western two thirds of the state- minus the Panhandle with rainfall chances. The other areas have good shots at rain as well- and in some cases are receiving it as we write this on Monday morning- but they are not included in the graphic from the Norman office.
