Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 11/11/2013


   

Actual Receipts: 9655    Last Week: 7216    Year Ago: 7478

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers steady. Demand moderate to good for feeder cattle. Crop report out late last week and bullish to feeder cattle thus holding feeder demand on a steady pace. This after a lower week of slaughter cattle trade. Steer and heifer calves mostly steady. Demand good for calves, especially long weaned or value added. Supply included several of these calves. Demand for un-weaned calves moderate as a strong cold front is knocking at our north door. Temps expected to drop in the upper 30's for highs on Tuesday with wind chills in the 20's. Receipts this week totaled 56 percent over 600 lbs and 37 percent heifers.
