Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/16/2013



   

   ***The Oklahoma National Stockyards will be closed for the Holidays December 23-24th and December 30-31st. The next sale will be January 6, 2014.***

Estimated Receipts: 10,500   Last Monday: Closed   Year Ago Monday: 7267

Compared to the last sale 2 weeks ago: Feeder steers and heifers steady. Demand moderate for limited numbers of feeder cattle. Steer calves that are long weaned sold 3.00-6.00 higher, un-weaned or short weaned sold steady to 3.00 lower. Heifer calves steady to 3.00 higher. Demand very good for calves. Quality plain to average on feeder cattle but average to attractive for calves. Weigh-ups average to full,few gaunt. Warmer temperatures have returned but only for a short while as frigid weather is expected to hit this coming weekend.

Feeder Steers Medium and Large 1: Calves pkg 325 lbs 241.00; 400-450 lbs 211.00-235.00; 450-500 lbs 198.00-219.00; 500-550 lbs 191.00-212.00; 550-600 lbs 179.00-193.50, 550 lbs fancy 201.00; 600-700 lbs 157.00-172.00, 610 lbs fleshy 155.00; Yearlings: 600-650 lbs 175.00-189.50; 650-700 lbs 165.00-175.50; 740-800 lbs 158.75-166.00; 840-900 lbs 155.00-158.50; few 945-985 lbs 148.00-150.00.

Medium and Large 1-2: 500-600 lbs 175.00-194.00; 600-700 lbs 165.00-173.00; 700-760 lbs 158.50-163.50, lot 780 lb calves 153.00; 800-875 lbs 153.50-157.50; pkg 930 lbs 146.50; lot 1050 lbs 140.50.
   
Holsteins Large 3: load 550 lbs 124.00.
