House Passage for the Farm Bill Conference Report a Win for Conservation
Wed, 29 Jan 2014 11:02:49 CST
Bill Wenzel, program director of the Izaak Walton League issued this statement following House passage of the 2014 farm bill:
The Farm Bill passed its biggest hurdle yet thanks to bipartisan support for both farmers and America's natural resources. The vote by the House of Representatives to support the Farm Bill brings us one step closer to restoring programs that conserve soil, water, and habitat on farmland, including the compact between farmers and taxpayers that farmers who receive crop insurance premium subsidies adopt basic conservation practices. We call on all members of the Senate to also pass the 2014 Farm Bill and send it to President Obama's desk.
