Republican Agriculture Commissioners Committee (RACC) Chairman Adam Putnam, Florida Commissioner of Agriculture, today issued the following statement in response to the U.S. House of Representatives passage of the five-year farm bill:
“It’s been a long time in coming, but with today’s 251-166 vote the U.S. House has sent a strong message to their colleagues across the hall and the President down Pennsylvania Avenue. Swift passage and signature of this bill ensures continued growth and opportunity for American agriculture across the globe. This bill has a direct impact on the products that end up on America’s, and the world’s, shelves and dinner plates. In short, final passage of this bill matters not only to America, but to the world.”
The Republican Agriculture Commissioners Committee is the Republican caucus of state Agriculture Commissioners. Its mission is to elect Republicans to the office, and to actively support their appointed Republican colleagues in the states where the position is not elected.
