Canola Field Tours Underway This Week- Times and Directions for Each Tour Stop The Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service is partnering with the Oklahoma Oilseed Commission to provide a series of canola field tours across the state in April.

Field tour sessions will be led by OSU agricultural scientists and Extension specialists, as well as Ron Sholar, Oklahoma Oilseed Commission executive director, and Heath Sanders, Great Plains Canola Association canola field specialist.


Dates and Times:

April 14th 2014:

9:00 am: Kiowa Co: From stoplight in Hobart go 4 miles west on HWY 9. Plot located on north side of road.

11:00 am: Greer Co: From Granite go 4 miles south on HWY 6, then 0.75 miles east. Plot north of road.

3:00 pm: Jackson Co: From Altus go 5.5 miles west on HWY 62. Canola field south of highway.



April 15th 2014:

10:00 am: Custer Co: From I-40 exit 65 in Clinton, go N to Modelle Ave, west to 28th St, 2 miles north, 0.25 m west.

2:00 pm: Caddo Co: From I-40 exit 95 (Bethel Rd.) go 3.5 miles south ("Hinton Rd"), then 1 m west. Field S of road.

5:00 pm: Canadian Co: From I-40 exit 130 (Banner Rd.) go 0.5 m south to Jensen Rd., then 1.25 m west.


April 16th 2014:

10:00 am: Kingfisher Co: From the HWY 81&33 junction in Kingfisher go 2 miles west. Plot on south side of HWY 33.

1:00 pm: Blaine Co: From Okeene go 4 miles south, then 2 miles west then, 1.25 miles south. Plot east of road.

4:00 pm Garfield Co: From Garber go 1 mile south, then 0.25 miles east. Canola field on south side of road 410.

6:00 pm: Grant Co: From HWY 60&74 in Lamont go 2 miles north, then 1.25 miles west. Plot south of Grady Rd.


April 17th 2014:

9:00 am: Dewey Co: From the elevator in Seiling go 1 mile south, then 0.5 miles east. Canola field north of road.

11:30 am: Major Co: From Hwy 412&8 junction in Orienta go 10 miles west on HWY 412. Plots north of Highway.

2:30 pm: Alfalfa Co: On the north side of Helena go 0.75 miles west on 7th St (CR 320). Plot south of road.

6:00 pm: Noble Co: From the HWY 64&177 junction east of Perry go north 1 mile to Knob Hill. Plot east of HWY177


April 29th 2014:

10:00 am: Ottawa Co: From I-44 exit 313 in Miami take Hwy 69A 2 miles N, 1 mile E, 0.75 mile N. Plot west of road.
