Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 06/25/2014

Receipts: 4508    Last Week: 5043    Year Ago: N/A

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold mostly 7.00 to 10.00 higher with exception of 750-800 lb steers trading 12.00-15.00 higher and cattle over 900 lbs 4.00 to 5.00 higher. Feeder heifers sold 6.00 to 8.00 higher. Demand good to very good for all classes. Not enough comparable sales to establish a trend for steer and heifer calves, however a higher undertone was noted. Rains continued across the state early in the week brining much needed relief to Western Oklahoma; however warmer temperatures and drier weather are predicted for the rest of the week and into the weekend. Receipts this week totaled 80 percent over 600 lbs and 38 percent heifers.
