Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 07/09/2014

Compared to two weeks ago: Feeder steers sold 5.00-8.00 higher. Feeder heifers traded 7.00-9.00 higher. Calves up to 10.00 higher on few comparable sales. Up to four inches of rain fell across central Oklahoma this morning ahead of scorching temperatures that are expected for the weekend. Supply included 87 percent over 600 lbs; 38 percent heifers.

   

Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: few 375 lbs 307.50; 450-500 lbs 277.50-282.50; 500-550 lbs 251.00-260.00; 550-600 lbs 241.00-262.50; 600-650 lbs 226.00-237.00; 650-700 lbs 215.00-217.00; 725-750 lbs 212.00-219.00; Yearlings: 600-700 lbs 222.00-248.00; 700-775 lbs 218.00-229.00; 800-900 lbs 200.00-213.00, fancy 810 lbs 217.00; 900-975 lbs 195.00-206.00; 1000-1050 lbs 184.00-194.50.
   
Medium and Large 1-2: 500-550 lbs 222.00-235.00, thin fleshed 265.00-266.00; 600-700 lbs 211.00-236.00, thin fleshed 220.00-241.00; 700-800 lbs 207.00-220.00; 800-900 lbs 201.00-202.00, thin fleshed 203.00-208.00; 925-1000 lbs 181.00-194.00; 1075-1100 lbs 176.00-178.50.
