Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 08/14/2014

Receipts: 2835    Last Week: 4455    Year Ago: 3663

Compared to last week: Feeder steers sold 8.00 to 10.00 lower. Feeder heifers sold mostly 5.00 to 10.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves were lightly tested but a lower undertone was noted. Demand moderate as pressure from the CME Live and Feeder cattle contracts have been sharply lower in the last week, causing buyers to be more cautious. Supply included 88 percent over 600 lbs and 44 percent heifers.

   
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: Calves: 330-390 lbs 316.00-340.00; Pkg 405 lbs 299.00; 450-470 lbs 266.00-275.00; 550-570 lbs 244.00-257.00; 600-650 lbs 229.00-231.00; 650-700 lbs 219.00-220.00; 750-775 lbs 190.00-212.00; Yearlings: 600-640 lbs 238.00-239.00; 650-700 lbs 225.00-235.00; 700-750 lbs 221.00-225.00; 750-800 lbs 209.50-216.50; 800-865 lbs 205.50-211.50; 900-935 lbs 203.50-207.00.
