GOP Win All Ag Commissioner Races Across the US

Republican Agriculture Commissioners Committee (RACC) Executive Director Tim Barnes Tuesday evening issued the following statement:
"Tonight voters throughout the country made it clear: They are thrilled with the hard work and dedication being put forth by their elected Republican agriculture leaders. When given the opportunity, voters returned 6 incumbents to office with resounding victories, and opted to keep a Republican in the one open seat up this year. After decisively winning all 7 of the secretary and commissioners of agriculture seats up this year - it's clear voters trust these leaders with their ag future. "
In Oklahoma, the Commissioner of Agriculture is selected by the Governor- Farm Director Ron Hays talked with Oklahoma Ag Secretary Jim Reese on Tuesday evening at the Statewide Republican Watch Pary- and he says he is willing to continue to serve- but that it is at the pleasure of Governor Mary Fallin, who won reelection over Joe Dorman on Tuesday.
Republicans were re-elected in the following states:
Alabama - Commissioner John McMillan
Florida - Commissioner Adam Putnam
Georgia - Commissioner Gary Black
Iowa - Secretary Bill Northey (Northey received the most votes of any candidate on the ballot)
North Dakota - Commissioner Doug Goehring
South Carolina - Commissioner Hugh Weathers
Republican Sid Miller won the open Texas seat

The Republican Agriculture Commissioners Committee is the Republican caucus of state Agriculture Commissioners, Directors, and Secretaries. Its mission is to elect Republicans to the office, and to actively support their appointed Republican colleagues in the states where the position is not elected.
