Oklahoma National Stockyards - Add Mid-Session

Feeder Cattle Narrative Report for 02/09/2015

Estimated Receipts: 9,000     Last Monday: 4,476     Year Ago Monday: 3,472

Compared to last week: Feeder steers and heifers traded mostly steady to 1.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves mostly 2.00 to 5.00 higher on comparable sales. Opening demand for feeder cattle was very good, following the positive momentum set by the CME Feeder and Live Cattle contracts at Friday's close. Despite the CME contracts closing higher Monday, demand weakened as the sale progressed. Quality was plain through attractive, with several large strings of heavy weight wheat pasture cattle on offer. Temperatures have been in the 70's over the weekend, and will remain above average for this time of year throughout the week.
